Scraps N Pieces

I know I haven't really blogged in quite a while, and I promise to do so soon, but I need to post this real fast.

There's a craft fair here in Rexburg Friday and Saturday, and they're having a bunch of giveaways.
And, to enter in win, you've got to give a shout out in your blog, so here goes:

Here's a shout out for scrapsNpieces.blogspot.com!

Update?

So, I got back from California on Tuesday evening.
My parents drove me up, with my little sister along for the ride.
We stopped in St. George and ate at Golden Corral.
Man, that place is yummy.
Then my parents bought me temple clothes!
I've been needing to buy my own for a while now.
Better than paying 6 dollars to rent at the temple every time!
We stopped and stayed the night in Beaver.
The following day was FULL of prom dress shopping for my little sister.
Lo and behold, after going to a dozen different dress shops, Marci settled on the second one she tried on, which was a good decision.
It fit her PERFECTLY, which is pretty unusual for people in my family.
I wish I had taken a picture.
Oh well.
Anyway, we got into Rexburg on Tuesday and then went out to eat for dinner at Craigos.
My dad ended up LOVING the pasta bar part of the buffet, and he took my mom and sister to the Craigos in Idaho Falls the following day for lunch.
They left Idaho sometime on Wednesday.
It was really nice to spend some time with my family for so long though!
Especially since they replenished mine and Brad's empty kitchen cupboards.
Haha.
Anyway, since then, Brad and I haven't been doing a whole lot.
Brad cleaned the whole apartment while I was gone, so we had no cleaning to do.
Also, the whole post office/package thing is over.
We never did get our package, and the post office never called us back.
I did, however, get an email from Amazon, saying that the package had been mailed back to them with a status of "undeliverable" and we will be getting a refund.
So lame.
We went to Pita Pit for lunch today, which was super yummy as always.
One thing i'm really looking forward to is Ana coming back into town for the new semester!
She should be here in a little over an hour!
Eep!
It will be so nice to have such a close friend close by again.
I think i'll ask her over for dinner tonight.
Every time we talk on the phone, she always mentions how she misses my cooking, so i'm sure it would be a very welcome invite.
Life is good, as always.
I still love my husband.
I still love being married.
:)

My hubby wubby! Haha.

1. He's sitting in front of the TV, what is on the screen?
It depends on the time of day, and whether i'm watching with him or not. He could be playing Fable on the Xbox, he could be watching House, SVU, or any of the daytime sitcoms we watch. Lost if it's Wednesday, or Heroes. Cosby Show late at night. The Office maybe, or some movie that's on. It varies a lot.

2. You're out to eat, what kind of dressing does he get on his salad?
Ranch?

3. What's one food he doesn't like?
Well, I know he doesn't like chicken because it's always "dry"! But he seems to avoid anything healthy in general.

4. You go out to eat. Where would he choose?
If money wasn't an option, I'm not sure. But we tend to go to Craigos the most probably, if we're going to an actual restaurant.

5. Where did he go to high school?
Brookville High.

6. What size shoe does he wear?
9 1/2ish.

7. If he was (were) to collect anything, what would it be?
Video games. Haha. Although, when he was younger, he collected baseball cards and stamps.

8. What is his favorite type of sandwich?
Probably ham and american cheese.

9. What would this person eat every day if he could?
Pistachios! Just kidding. I only say that because whenever I put them out, he gobbles em all up within minutes! But seriously, I'm not really sure. Maybe Thick and Creamy Kraft Mac n Cheese. Man that stuff is good.

10. What is his favorite cereal?
Does he have a favorite? Brad is pretty chill about all of his preferences.

11. What would he never wear?
Probably girls clothes in general. Although I do have a few snapshots of him in one of my skirts!

12. What is his favorite sports team?
Steelers.

13. Who did he vote for?
I'm not sure if he voted. I know I didn't.

14. Who is his best friend?
Well me, duh!

15. What is something you do that he wishes you wouldn't do?
Complain about being fat. Lol.

16. What is his favorite color?
Blue.

17. You bake him a cake for his birthday, what would it be?
He likes the confetti kind, so that's what I made him for his last birthday. With confetti icing as well.

18. Did he play sports in high school?
I don't think Golf counts.

19. What could he spend hours doing?
Playing video/computer games. And he does. Frequently.

20. What is one unique talent he has?
Unique? Hmm. He can sing really well! Is that unique for a guy?

I left my heart in Rexburg, Idaho

So I'm here in California.
After a not-so-bad drive down from Rexburg by myself, I found myself in lovely weather and familiar surroundings.
Have I mentioned here before about how much I LOVE going home.
I don't think Brad will ever fully understand the love I have for the Coachella Valley.
The air, the desert, the mountains, the smell, everything!
I know everyone and I know where everything is.
It's one of the greatest feelings in the world to drive down highway 62 from 29 Palms and run into my home.
I LOVED driving down here too.
To be honest, I was dreading it for a while.
Not only because I had to leave Brad behind for almost an entire week, but because my car isn't in the best shape (tire wise. They're almost as bald as my husband! Haha. j/k).
However, the drive went very smoothly.
Especially when I hit the back roads from Vegas to 29.
Going 90 down completely empty roads, windows down, singing old 90's songs, stopping and taking pictures, singing at the top of my lungs, sun on my skin... it was perfect.

Anyway, on to what's been happening.
I drove down here because i'm leaving my car here.
Although I love it, I never drive it anymore.
Plus, when Brad and I go to Yellowstone for the summer, where will we store it?
So i'm gifting it to my little sister for her birthday, and my parents will drive me back up there on Tuesday.
It's been SO nice to be home, even though I find myself missing Brad every second of the day.
My oldest sister drove down from San Jose with my nieces!
So i've been playing with them constantly the past two days.
My brother also drove down from Rexburg and got here last night.
THEN, my sister Katrina drove out from Coachella yesterday afternoon, and it's just so nice to be around so much family!
Today, my mom and I worked a bit on cleaning out the garage.
I took 4 boxes of my stuff that had been stowed away, and simplified it into one, and piling everything else into boxes headed for donation.
It feels nice to just simply and organize.
Plus, I got to relive some childhood memories, even if they really weren't that long ago (I'm so young!).

Let's see... What else?
Oh yes!
I was able to go out to dinner with one of my dearest friends Nikki on Wednesday!
We've been buddies since we met in "Grease" and she was one of my bridesmaids.
We went to Dennys and just had a really nice time catching up, especially since she recently got engaged officially!
Makes sense, since she DID catch my boquet. Lol.
Jeni should be here this weekend for a short time, so i'll be able to see her as well!
Now if only we could get Nicole out here!

Below are just a few pictures from the past couple days.
I'm sure i'll post more once my trip is over.
(If you click on the pictures, you can see them a LOT bigger. I recommend clicking on the first two)

Some pictures from my GORGEOUS drive on the back roads.

Avery and her adorable skirt!
Dancing!
I had to snap a picture of my little sister's bedroom. SO MESSY!
Jordyn and Marci's cat, Oreo, that is almost bigger than her!
Skydancers!
Jordyn was being uncooperative. Lol.
Jordyn decided to take some pictures with my camera, so this picture and the next one are taken by my 4 1/2 year old niece.
(Katrina with a stuffy nose)
Jordyn sprayed everyone with silly string once they arrived! Even my mom!
Laura and Avery
That's my mom. Jordyn took this picture and I think it looks really cool.

This video is SO funny to me!

Silly Sonogram

Well I had a fun April Fools Day!
I've never been big on huge elaborate pranks and days of planning, so this morning, in a spur of the moment decision, I posted on Myspace that I was pregnant.
I did it on Myspace, because had it been on Facebook, I would have gotten way too much of a response, so I chose my lesser used social networking site.
It was still fun though!
I had all my best friends fooled and even my little sister.
I kept getting phone calls and texts from people who were excited and shocked and everything!
Unfortunately, the whole thing made me want a baby even more. :/

Packages, packages.

About 3 weeks ago, I ordered a few things online from Amazon.
I probably shouldn't have, since I had just gotten a new skirt online and some more Bare Minerals.
But I couldn't help myself!
Basically, I wanted to get a spoon rest for the oven so when we're making pasta and what not, we have something to rest the mixing spoons on rather than getting the oven all gross and having to wipe it down after everytime we cook.
That was all I was planning on getting, but then I saw Amazon's DVD sale.
"Pay it Forward" was only a little over 3 bucks, and I love that movie and love adding to our DVD collection even more, so I decided to add that to the shopping cart.
Well, Amazon has this "Free Super Saver Shipping" offer, where you get free shipping on orders over $25 and since I already had about ten bucks in there, and with shipping it would've been around 25 bucks anyways, I decided to add a few more items for the free shipping.
This resulted in the purchase of the book "The Hunger Games" which i've been wanting to read for a while, as well as a new DS game.
All in all, it was about 40 dollars and I don't know what I was thinking!
Anyway, it all came back to bite me in the butt.
I ALWAYS track my packages online to see where they are and when they will arrive.
I meticulously check everyday to be sure things aren't lost or arriving weeks later than expected, you know?
Well, this package was no different.
I watched as it went through Denver and Salt Lake and finally to Rexburg.
I woke up last Wednesday, went online, and saw that at "4:45 a.m." my shipment had been forwarded to a different address and delivered exactly one minute later.
WHAT?!
I checked our mailbox, empty.
Not even a key to the bigger mail boxes that hold packages.
I checked in the laundry room and the lounge.
Nothing.
Brad asked the managers of they had gotten it.
Nothing.
Our neighbors don't seem to have it, since they haven't stopped by at all.
Finally, last Saturday, I went to the post office to find out where my $40 worth of purchases had been delivered!
The man I talked left the counter and came back 5 minutes later to say he couldn't help me because his supervisor wasn't in.
He then took down my information and said the super would call me on Monday.
All Monday I wait and no call.
All Tuesday, no call.
Today, I am going back to the post office and I am not leaving without an answer this time!
Especially since I have some new shoes arriving in the mail tomorrow (Brad supported this purchase. No worries. Lol.) and I would really like them to not be forwarded somewhere else!
